Dne 16.4.2016 se německém Werdau konal turnaj pro chlapce kategorií U13, U15, U18 a U23. Do Werdau se sjelo 200 judistů ze SRN a jako jediný klub z ČR Judo Ústí nad Labem s 5-ti závodníky. V kategorii U13 závodil za náš klub Václav Podráský (do 38 kg), kterému se bohužel nedařilo a obsadil smolné 7. místo. Další závodníci Tomáš Klazar (U15 do 46 kg), Roman Urbánek (U15 do 60 kg), Tomáš Kaulfus (U18 do 50 kg) a Jiří Jangl (U18 do 60 kg) nedali žádnému soupeři šanci a všichni vybojovali skvělá 1. místa. Jiří Jangl pak nastoupil ještě k přátelskému utkání, které také dokázal vyhrát. I při nízké účasti judistů z Judo Ústí nad Labem, stačila 1. místa k tomu, že Judo Ústí nad Labem vybojovalo v soutěži týmů nečekané 3. místo s 20-ti body.

„S 3. místem v soutěži týmů jsme vůbec kvůli malé účasti našich borců na turnaji nepočítali a pohár za 3. místo nás velmi potěšil“ okomentoval výsledky trenér Kaulfus.
